Oven won’t open

Customer in Norwich, VT complained that oven wouldn’t open, throwing error code. Tenant had attempted to use the ‘self-clean’ feature of their oven. Typically we wouldn’t recommend this feature because the high temperatures can mean fire danger, and sometimes can even damage the components of the oven. It’s a sad truth that appliances just aren’t made the way they used to be.

We discovered that the latch that locks the oven closed during the self-clean cycle was badly rusted, and froze in place.
